zəḵōr yəhwāh meh-hāyāh lānû habbîṭāh ûrə’ēh ’eṯ-ḥerəpāṯēnû | Lam 5:1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach. |
naḥălāṯēnû nehep̱əḵāh ləzārîm bāttênû lənāḵərîm | Lam 5:2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens. |
yəṯômîm hāyînû wə’ên ’āḇ ’immōṯênû kə’aləmānôṯ | Lam 5:3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows. |
mêmênû bəḵesep̱ šāṯînû ‘ēṣênû biməḥîr yāḇō’û | Lam 5:4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us. |

’ăḇōṯênû ḥāṭə’û wə’ênām wa’ănaḥənû ‘ăwōnōṯêhem sāḇālənû | Lam 5:7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. |
‘ăḇāḏîm māšəlû ḇānû pōrēq ’ên miyyāḏām | Lam 5:8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand. |
bənap̱əšēnû nāḇî’ laḥəmēnû mippənê ḥereḇ hammiḏəbār | Lam 5:9 We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness. |
‘ôrēnû kəṯannûr niḵəmārû mippənê zalə‘ăp̱ôṯ rā‘āḇ | Lam 5:10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine. |
nāšîm bəṣiyyôn ‘innû bəṯulōṯ bə‘ārê yəhûḏāh | Lam 5:11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah. |
śārîm bəyāḏām niṯəlû pənê zəqēnîm lō’ nehədārû | Lam 5:12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured. |
baḥûrîm ṭəḥôn nāśā’û ûnə‘ārîm bā‘ēṣ kāšālû | Lam 5:13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood. |
zəqēnîm mišša‘ar šāḇāṯû baḥûrîm minnəg̱înāṯām | Lam 5:14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. |
šāḇaṯ məśôś libbēnû nehəpaḵ lə’ēḇel məḥōlēnû | Lam 5:15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. |
nāp̱əlāh ‘ăṭereṯ rō’šēnû ’ôy-nā’ lānû kî ḥāṭā’nû | Lam 5:16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned! |
‘al-zeh hāyāh ḏāweh libbēnû ‘al-’ēlleh ḥāšəḵû ‘ênênû | Lam 5:17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim. |
‘al har-ṣiyyôn šeššāmēm šû‘ālîm hilləḵû-ḇô | Lam 5:18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. |
’attāh yəhwāh lə‘ôlām tēšēḇ kisə’ăḵā ləḏōr wāḏôr | Lam 5:19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. |
lāmmāh lāneṣaḥ tišəkāḥēnû ta‘azəḇēnû lə’ōreḵ yāmîm | Lam 5:20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? |
hăšîḇēnû yəhwāh ’ēleyḵā wənāšûḇāh ḥaddēš yāmênû kəqeḏem | Lam 5:21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. |
kî ’im-mā’ōs mə’asətānû qāṣap̱ətā ‘ālênû ‘aḏ-mə’ōḏ | Lam 5:22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us. |
