ûšəlōmōh hāyāh môšēl bəḵāl-hammaməlāḵôṯ min-hannāhār ’ereṣ pəlišətîm wə‘aḏ gəḇûl miṣərāyim maggišîm minəḥāh wə‘ōḇəḏîm ’eṯ-šəlōmōh kāl-yəmê ḥayyāyw 1Kgs 5:1 [KJV 4:21] And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
wayəhî leḥem-šəlōmōh ləyôm ’eḥāḏ šəlōšîm kōr sōleṯ wəšiššîm kōr qāmaḥ 1Kgs 5:2 [KJV 4:22] And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
‘ăśārāh ḇāqār bəri’îm wə‘eśərîm bāqār rə‘î ûmē’āh ṣō’n ləḇaḏ mē’ayyāl ûṣəḇî wəyaḥəmûr ûḇarəburîm ’ăḇûsîm 1Kgs 5:3 [KJV 4:23] Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.
kî-hû’ rōḏeh bəḵāl-‘ēḇer hannāhār mittip̱əsaḥ wə‘aḏ-‘azzāh bəḵāl-maləḵê ‘ēḇer hannāhār wəšālôm hāyāh mikkāl-‘ăḇārāyw missāḇîḇ 1Kgs 5:4 [KJV 4:24] For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
wayyēšeḇ yəhûḏāh wəyiśərā’ēl lāḇeṭaḥ ’îš taḥaṯ gap̱ənô wəṯaḥaṯ tə’ēnāṯô middān wə‘aḏ-bə’ēr šāḇa‘ kōl yəmê šəlōmōh 1Kgs 5:5 [KJV 4:25] And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
wayəhî lišəlōmōh ’arəbā‘îm ’elep̱ ’urəwōṯ sûsîm ləmerəkāḇô ûšənêm-‘āśār ’elep̱ pārāšîm 1Kgs 5:6 [KJV 4:26] And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
wəḵiləkəlû hanniṣṣāḇîm hā’ēlleh ’eṯ-hammeleḵ šəlōmōh wə’ēṯ kāl-haqqārēḇ ’el-šuləḥan hammeleḵ-šəlōmōh ’îš ḥāḏəšô lō’ yə‘addərû dāḇār 1Kgs 5:7 [KJV 4:27] And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
wəhaśśə‘ōrîm wəhatteḇen lassûsîm wəlārāḵeš yāḇi’û ’el-hammāqôm ’ăšer yihəyeh-ššām ’îš kəmišəpāṭô 1Kgs 5:8 [KJV 4:28] Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
wayyittēn ’ĕlōhîm ḥāḵəmāh lišəlōmōh ûṯəḇûnāh harəbēh mə’ōḏ wərōḥaḇ lēḇ kaḥôl ’ăšer ‘al-śəp̱aṯ hayyām 1Kgs 5:9 [KJV 4:29] And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
wattēreḇ ḥāḵəmaṯ šəlōmōh mēḥāḵəmaṯ kāl-bənê-qeḏem ûmikkōl ḥāḵəmaṯ miṣərāyim 1Kgs 5:10 [KJV 4:30] And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
wayyeḥəkam mikkāl-hā’āḏām mē’êṯān hā’ezərāḥî wəhêmān wəḵaləkōl wəḏarəda‘ bənê māḥôl wayəhî-šəmô ḇəḵāl-haggôyim sāḇîḇ 1Kgs 5:11 [KJV 4:31] For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
wayəḏabbēr šəlōšeṯ ’ălāp̱îm māšāl wayəhî šîrô ḥămiššāh wā’ālep̱ 1Kgs 5:12 [KJV 4:32] And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
wayəḏabbēr ‘al-hā‘ēṣîm min-hā’erez ’ăšer balləḇānôn wə‘aḏ hā’ēzôḇ ’ăšer yōṣē’ baqqîr wayəḏabbēr ‘al-habbəhēmāh wə‘al-hā‘ôp̱ wə‘al-hāremeś wə‘al-haddāg̱îm 1Kgs 5:13 [KJV 4:33] And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
wayyāḇō’û mikkāl-hā‘ammîm lišəmōa‘ ’ēṯ ḥāḵəmaṯ šəlōmōh mē’ēṯ kāl-maləḵê hā’āreṣ ’ăšer šāmə‘û ’eṯ-ḥāḵəmāṯô 1Kgs 5:14 [KJV 4:34] And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
wayyišəlaḥ ḥîrām meleḵ-ṣôr ’eṯ-‘ăḇāḏāyw ’el-šəlōmōh šāma‘ ’ōṯô māšəḥû ləmeleḵ taḥaṯ ’āḇîhû ’ōhēḇ hāyāh ḥîrām ləḏāwiḏ kāl-hayyāmîm 1Kgs 5:15 [KJV 5:1] And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
wayyišəlaḥ šəlōmōh ’el-ḥîrām lē’mōr 1Kgs 5:16 [KJV 5:2] And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
’attāh yāḏa‘ətā ’eṯ-dāwiḏ ’āḇî lō’ yāḵōl liḇənôṯ bayiṯ ləšēm yəhwāh ’ĕlōhāyw mippənê hammiləḥāmāh ’ăšer səḇāḇuhû ‘aḏ tēṯ-yəhwāh ’ōṯām taḥaṯ kappôṯ rag̱əlāy 1Kgs 5:17 [KJV 5:3] Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
wə‘attāh hēnîaḥ yəhwāh ’ĕlōhay missāḇîḇ ’ên śāṭān wə’ên peg̱a‘ rā‘ 1Kgs 5:18 [KJV 5:4] But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
wəhinənî ’ōmēr liḇənôṯ bayiṯ ləšēm yəhwāh ’ĕlōhāy ka’ăšer dibber yəhwāh ’el-dāwiḏ ’āḇî lē’mōr binəḵā ’ăšer ’ettēn taḥəteyḵā ‘al-kisə’eḵā hû’-yiḇəneh habbayiṯ lišəmî 1Kgs 5:19 [KJV 5:5] And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.
wə‘attāh ṣawwēh wəyiḵərəṯû- ’ărāzîm min-halləḇānôn wa‘ăḇāḏay yihəyû ‘im-‘ăḇāḏeyḵā ûśəḵar ‘ăḇāḏeyḵā ’ettēn ləḵā kəḵōl ’ăšer tō’mēr ’attāh yāḏa‘ətā ’ên bānû ’îš yōḏēa‘ liḵərāṯ-‘ēṣîm kaṣṣiḏōnîm 1Kgs 5:20 [KJV 5:6] Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
wayəhî kišəmōa‘ ḥîrām ’eṯ-diḇərê šəlōmōh wayyiśəmaḥ mə’ōḏ wayyō’mer bārûḵ yəhwāh hayyôm ’ăšer nāṯan ləḏāwiḏ bēn ḥāḵām ‘al-hā‘ām hārāḇ hazzeh 1Kgs 5:21 [KJV 5:7] And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.
wayyišəlaḥ ḥîrām ’el-šəlōmōh lē’mōr šāma‘ətî ’ēṯ ’ăšer-šālaḥətā ’ēlāy ’ănî ’e‘ĕśeh ’eṯ-kāl-ḥep̱əṣəḵā ba‘ăṣê ’ărāzîm ûḇa‘ăṣê ḇərôšîm 1Kgs 5:22 [KJV 5:8] And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
‘ăḇāḏay yōriḏû min-halləḇānôn yāmmāh wa’ănî ’ăśîmēm dōḇərôṯ bayyām ‘aḏ-hammāqôm ’ăšer-tišəlaḥ ’ēlay wənippaṣətîm šām wə’attāh ṯiśśā’ wə’attāh ta‘ăśeh ’eṯ-ḥep̱əṣî lāṯēṯ leḥem bêṯî 1Kgs 5:23 [KJV 5:9] My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
wayəhî ḥîrôm nōṯēn lišəlōmōh ‘ăṣê ’ărāzîm wa‘ăṣê ḇərôšîm kāl-ḥep̱əṣô 1Kgs 5:24 [KJV 5:10] So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.
ûšəlōmōh nāṯan ləḥîrām ‘eśərîm ’elep̱ kōr ḥiṭṭîm makkōleṯ ləḇêṯô wə‘eśərîm kōr šemen kāṯîṯ kōh-yittēn šəlōmōh ləḥîrām šānāh ḇəšānāh 1Kgs 5:25 [KJV 5:11] And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
wayhwāh nāṯan ḥāḵəmāh lišəlōmōh ka’ăšer dibber- wayəhî šālōm bên ḥîrām ûḇên šəlōmōh wayyiḵərəṯû ḇərîṯ šənêhem 1Kgs 5:26 [KJV 5:12] And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
wayya‘al hammeleḵ šəlōmōh mas mikkāl-yiśərā’ēl wayəhî hammas šəlōšîm ’elep̱ ’îš 1Kgs 5:27 [KJV 5:13] And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
wayyišəlāḥēm ləḇānônāh ‘ăśereṯ ’ălāp̱îm baḥōḏeš ḥălîp̱ôṯ ḥōḏeš yihəyû ḇalləḇānôn šənayim ḥŏḏāšîm bəḇêṯô wa’ăḏōnîrām ‘al-hammas 1Kgs 5:28 [KJV 5:14] And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
wayəhî lišəlōmōh šiḇə‘îm ’elep̱ nōśē’ sabbāl ûšəmōnîm ’elep̱ ḥōṣēḇ bāhār 1Kgs 5:29 [KJV 5:15] And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;
ləḇaḏ miśśārê hanniṣṣāḇîm lišəlōmōh ’ăšer ‘al-hamməlā’ḵāh šəlōšeṯ ’ălāp̱îm ûšəlōš mē’ôṯ hārōḏîm bā‘ām hā‘ōśîm bamməlā’ḵāh 1Kgs 5:30 [KJV 5:16] Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
wayəṣaw hammeleḵ wayyassi‘û ’ăḇānîm gəḏōlôṯ ’ăḇānîm yəqārôṯ ləyassēḏ habbāyiṯ ’aḇənê g̱āzîṯ 1Kgs 5:31 [KJV 5:17] And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
wayyip̱əsəlû bōnê šəlōmōh ûḇōnê ḥîrôm wəhaggiḇəlîm wayyāḵînû hā‘ēṣîm wəhā’ăḇānîm liḇənôṯ habbāyiṯ 1Kgs 5:32 [KJV 5:18] And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.
