| ושלמ֗ה הי֤ה מושל֙ בכל־הממלכ֔ות מן־הנהר֙ א֣רץ פלשת֔ים וע֖ד גב֣ול מצר֑ים מגש֥ים מנח֛ה ועבד֥ים את־שלמ֖ה כל־ימ֥י חיֽיו׃ | 1Kgs 5:1 [KJV 4:21] And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life. |
| ויה֥י לֽחם־שלמ֖ה לי֣ום אח֑ד שלש֥ים כר֙ ס֔לת ושש֥ים כ֖ר קֽמח׃ | 1Kgs 5:2 [KJV 4:22] And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal, |
| עשר֨ה בק֜ר ברא֗ים ועשר֥ים בק֛ר רע֖י ומ֣אה צ֑אן ל֠בד מֽאי֤ל וצבי֙ ויחמ֔ור וברבר֖ים אבוסֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:3 [KJV 4:23] Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl. |
| כי־ה֞וא רד֣ה׀ בכל־ע֣בר הנה֗ר מתפסח֙ ועד־עז֔ה בכל־מלכ֖י ע֣בר הנה֑ר ושל֗ום ה֥יה ל֛ו מכל־עבר֖יו מסבֽיב׃ | 1Kgs 5:4 [KJV 4:24] For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him. |
| וישב֩ יהוד֨ה וישרא֜ל לב֗טח א֣יש ת֤חת גפנו֙ ות֣חת תאֽנת֔ו מד֖ן ועד־בא֣ר ש֑בע כ֖ל ימ֥י שלמֽה׃ | 1Kgs 5:5 [KJV 4:25] And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon. |
| ויה֣י לשלמ֗ה ארבע֥ים א֛לף ארו֥ת סוס֖ים למרכב֑ו ושנים־עש֥ר א֖לף פרשֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:6 [KJV 4:26] And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. |
| וכלכלו֩ הנצב֨ים הא֜לה את־המ֣לך שלמ֗ה וא֧ת כל־הקר֛ב אל־שלח֥ן המֽלך־שלמ֖ה א֣יש חדש֑ו ל֥א יעדר֖ו דבֽר׃ | 1Kgs 5:7 [KJV 4:27] And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing. |
| והשער֣ים והת֔בן לסוס֖ים ולר֑כש יב֗או אל־המקום֙ אש֣ר יֽהיה־ש֔ם א֖יש כמשפטֽו׃ | 1Kgs 5:8 [KJV 4:28] Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge. |
| ויתן֩ אלה֨ים חכמ֧ה לשלמ֛ה ותבונ֖ה הרב֣ה מא֑ד ור֣חב ל֔ב כח֕ול אש֖ר על־שפ֥ת היֽם׃ | 1Kgs 5:9 [KJV 4:29] And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. |
| ות֙רב֙ חכמ֣ת שלמ֔ה מֽחכמ֖ת כל־בני־ק֑דם ומכ֖ל חכמ֥ת מצרֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:10 [KJV 4:30] And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. |
| ויחכם֘ מכל־הֽאדם֒ מאית֣ן האזרח֗י והימ֧ן וכלכ֛ל ודרד֖ע בנ֣י מח֑ול ויהֽי־שמ֥ו בכֽל־הגוי֖ם סבֽיב׃ | 1Kgs 5:11 [KJV 4:31] For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. |
| וידב֕ר של֥שת אלפ֖ים מש֑ל ויה֥י שיר֖ו חמש֥ה ואֽלף׃ | 1Kgs 5:12 [KJV 4:32] And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. |
| וידבר֘ על־הֽעצים֒ מן־הא֙רז֙ אש֣ר בלבנ֔ון ועד֙ האז֔וב אש֥ר יצ֖א בק֑יר וידבר֙ על־הבהמ֣ה ועל־הע֔וף ועל־הר֖מש ועל־הדגֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:13 [KJV 4:33] And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. |
| ויב֙או֙ מכל־ה֣עמ֔ים לשמ֕ע א֖ת חכמ֣ת שלמ֑ה מאת֙ כל־מלכ֣י הא֔רץ אש֥ר שמע֖ו את־חכמתֽו׃ | 1Kgs 5:14 [KJV 4:34] And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom. |
| ו֠ישלח חיר֨ם מֽלך־צ֤ור את־עבדיו֙ אל־שלמ֔ה כ֣י שמ֔ע כ֥י את֛ו משח֥ו למ֖לך ת֣חת אב֑יהו כ֣י אה֗ב הי֥ה חיר֛ם לדו֖ד כל־הימֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:15 [KJV 5:1] And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David. |
| וישל֣ח שלמ֔ה אל־חיר֖ם לאמֽר׃ | 1Kgs 5:16 [KJV 5:2] And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying, |
| את֨ה יד֜עת את־דו֣ד אב֗י כ֣י ל֤א יכל֙ לבנ֣ות ב֗ית לשם֙ יהו֣ה אלה֔יו מפנ֥י המלחמ֖ה אש֣ר סבב֑הו ע֤ד תת־יהוה֙ את֔ם ת֖חת כפ֥ות רגלֽי׃ | 1Kgs 5:17 [KJV 5:3] Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. |
| ועת֕ה הנ֨יח יהו֧ה אלה֛י ל֖י מסב֑יב א֣ין שט֔ן וא֖ין פ֥גע רֽע׃ | 1Kgs 5:18 [KJV 5:4] But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. |
| והננ֣י אמ֔ר לבנ֣ות ב֔ית לש֖ם יהו֣ה אלה֑י כאש֣ר׀ דב֣ר יהו֗ה אל־דו֤ד אבי֙ לאמ֔ר בנך֗ אש֨ר את֤ן תחת֙יך֙ על־כסא֔ך הֽוא־יבנ֥ה הב֖ית לשמֽי׃ | 1Kgs 5:19 [KJV 5:5] And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name. |
| ועת֡ה צוה֩ ויכרתו־ל֨י ארז֜ים מן־הלבנ֗ון וֽעבדי֙ יהי֣ו עם־עבד֔יך ושכ֤ר עבד֙יך֙ את֣ן לך֔ ככ֖ל אש֣ר תאמ֑ר כ֣י׀ את֣ה יד֗עת כ֣י א֥ין ב֛נו א֛יש יד֥ע לכרת־עצ֖ים כצדנֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:20 [KJV 5:6] Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians. |
| ויה֞י כשמ֧ע חיר֛ם את־דבר֥י שלמ֖ה וישמ֣ח מא֑ד וי֗אמר בר֤וך יהוה֙ הי֔ום אש֨ר נת֤ן לדוד֙ ב֣ן חכ֔ם על־הע֥ם הר֖ב הזֽה׃ | 1Kgs 5:21 [KJV 5:7] And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people. |
| וישל֤ח חירם֙ אל־שלמ֣ה לאמ֔ר שמ֕עתי א֥ת אשר־של֖חת אל֑י אנ֤י אֽעשה֙ את־כל־חפצך֔ בעצ֥י ארז֖ים ובעצ֥י ברושֽים׃ | 1Kgs 5:22 [KJV 5:8] And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. |
| ע֠בדי יר֨דו מן־הלבנ֜ון י֗מה ו֠אני אשימ֨ם דבר֤ות בים֙ עֽד־המק֞ום אשר־תשל֥ח אל֛י ונפצת֥ים ש֖ם ואת֣ה תש֑א ואתה֙ תעש֣ה את־חפצ֔י לת֖ת ל֥חם ביתֽי׃ | 1Kgs 5:23 [KJV 5:9] My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household. |
| ויה֨י חיר֜ום נת֣ן לשלמ֗ה עצ֧י ארז֛ים ועצ֥י ברוש֖ים כל־חפצֽו׃ | 1Kgs 5:24 [KJV 5:10] So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire. |
| ושלמה֩ נת֨ן לחיר֜ם עשרים֩ א֨לף כ֤ר חטים֙ מכ֣לת לבית֔ו ועשר֥ים כ֖ר ש֣מן כת֑ית כֽה־ית֧ן שלמ֛ה לחיר֖ם שנ֥ה בשנֽה׃ | 1Kgs 5:25 [KJV 5:11] And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year. |
| ויהו֗ה נת֤ן חכמה֙ לשלמ֔ה כאש֖ר דבר־ל֑ו ויה֣י של֗ם ב֤ין חירם֙ וב֣ין שלמ֔ה ויכרת֥ו בר֖ית שניהֽם׃ | 1Kgs 5:26 [KJV 5:12] And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together. |
| וי֨על המ֧לך שלמ֛ה מ֖ס מכל־ישרא֑ל ויה֣י המ֔ס שלש֥ים א֖לף אֽיש׃ | 1Kgs 5:27 [KJV 5:13] And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men. |
| וישלח֣ם לבנ֗ונה עש֨רת אלפ֤ים בח֙דש֙ חליפ֔ות ח֚דש יהי֣ו בלבנ֔ון שנ֥ים חדש֖ים בבית֑ו ואדניר֖ם על־המֽס׃ | 1Kgs 5:28 [KJV 5:14] And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy. |
| ויה֧י לשלמ֛ה שבע֥ים א֖לף נש֣א סב֑ל ושמנ֥ים א֖לף חצ֥ב בהֽר׃ | 1Kgs 5:29 [KJV 5:15] And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains; |
| ל֠בד משר֨י הנצב֤ים לשלמה֙ אש֣ר על־המלאכ֔ה של֥שת אלפ֖ים ושל֣ש מא֑ות הרד֣ים בע֔ם העש֖ים במלאכֽה׃ | 1Kgs 5:30 [KJV 5:16] Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work. |
| ויצ֣ו המ֡לך ויסעו֩ אבנ֨ים גדל֜ות אבנ֧ים יקר֛ות ליס֥ד הב֖ית אבנ֥י גזֽית׃ | 1Kgs 5:31 [KJV 5:17] And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house. |
| וֽיפסל֞ו בנ֧י שלמ֛ה ובנ֥י חיר֖ום והגבל֑ים ויכ֛ינו העצ֥ים והאבנ֖ים לבנ֥ות הבֽית׃ | 1Kgs 5:32 [KJV 5:18] And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house. |
