וַיַּעַן יְהוָה אֶת־אִיֹּוב וַיֹּאמַר׃ | Job 40:1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, |
הֲרֹב עִם־שַׁדַּי יִסֹּור מֹוכִיחַ אֱלֹוהַּ יַעֲנֶנָּה׃ | Job 40:2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it. |
וַיַּעַן אִיֹּוב אֶת־יְהוָה וַיֹּאמַר׃ | Job 40:3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, |
הֵן קַלֹּתִי מָה אֲשִׁיבֶךָּ יָדִי שַׂמְתִּי לְמֹו־פִי׃ | Job 40:4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. |
אַחַת דִּבַּרְתִּי וְלֹא אֶעֱנֶה וּשְׁתַּיִם וְלֹא אֹוסִיף׃ | Job 40:5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further. |
וַיַּעַן־יְהוָה אֶת־אִיֹּוב מִן׀ סְעָרָה וַיֹּאמַר׃ | Job 40:6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, |
אֱזָר־נָא כְגֶבֶר חֲלָצֶיךָ אֶשְׁאָלְךָ וְהֹודִיעֵנִי׃ | Job 40:7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. |
הַאַף תָּפֵר מִשְׁפָּטִי תַּרְשִׁיעֵנִי לְמַעַן תִּצְדָּק׃ | Job 40:8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? |
וְאִם־זְרֹועַ כָּאֵל׀ לָךְ וּבְקֹול כָּמֹהוּ תַרְעֵם׃ | Job 40:9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? |
עֲדֵה נָא גָאֹון וָגֹבַהּ וְהֹוד וְהָדָר תִּלְבָּשׁ׃ | Job 40:10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. |
הָפֵץ עֶבְרֹות אַפֶּךָ וּרְאֵה כָל־גֵּאֶה וְהַשְׁפִּילֵהוּ׃ | Job 40:11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. |
רְאֵה כָל־גֵּאֶה הַכְנִיעֵהוּ וַהֲדֹךְ רְשָׁעִים תַּחְתָּם׃ | Job 40:12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. |
טָמְנֵם בֶּעָפָר יָחַד פְּנֵיהֶם חֲבֹשׁ בַּטָּמוּן׃ | Job 40:13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. |
וְגַם־אֲנִי אֹודֶךָּ כִּי־תֹושִׁעַ לְךָ יְמִינֶךָ׃ | Job 40:14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee. |
הִנֵּה־נָא בְהֵמֹות אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂיתִי עִמָּךְ חָצִיר כַּבָּקָר יֹאכֵל׃ | Job 40:15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. |
הִנֵּה־נָא כֹחֹו בְמָתְנָיו וְאֹנֹו בִּשְׁרִירֵי בִטְנֹו׃ | Job 40:16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. |
יַחְפֹּץ זְנָבֹו כְמֹו־אָרֶז גִּידֵי פַחֲדָיו יְשֹׂרָגוּ׃ | Job 40:17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. |
עֲצָמָיו אֲפִיקֵי נְחוּשָׁה גְּרָמָיו כִּמְטִיל בַּרְזֶל׃ | Job 40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. |
הוּא רֵאשִׁית דַּרְכֵי־אֵל הָעֹשֹׂו יַגֵּשׁ חַרְבֹּו׃ | Job 40:19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. |
כִּי־בוּל הָרִים יִשְׂאוּ־לֹו וְכָל־חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה יְשַׂחֲקוּ־שָׁם׃ | Job 40:20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. |
תַּחַת־צֶאֱלִים יִשְׁכָּב בְּסֵתֶר קָנֶה וּבִצָּה׃ | Job 40:21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. |
יְסֻכֻּהוּ צֶאֱלִים צִלֲלֹו יְסֻבּוּהוּ עַרְבֵי־נָחַל׃ | Job 40:22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. |
הֵן יַעֲשֹׁק נָהָר לֹא יַחְפֹּוז יִבְטַח׀ כִּי־יָגִיחַ יַרְדֵּן אֶל־פִּיהוּ׃ | Job 40:23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. |
בְּעֵינָיו יִקָּחֶנּוּ בְּמֹוקְשִׁים יִנְקָב־אָף׃ | Job 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares. |
תִּמְשֹׁךְ לִוְיָתָן בְּחַכָּה וּבְחֶבֶל תַּשְׁקִיעַ לְשֹׁנֹו׃ | Job 40:25 [KJV 41:1] Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? |
הֲתָשִׂים אַגְמֹון בְּאַפֹּו וּבְחֹוחַ תִּקֹּוב לֶחֱיֹו׃ | Job 40:26 [KJV 41:2] Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? |
הֲיַרְבֶּה אֵלֶיךָ תַּחֲנוּנִים אִם־יְדַבֵּר אֵלֶיךָ רַכֹּות׃ | Job 40:27 [KJV 41:3] Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? |
הֲיִכְרֹת בְּרִית עִמָּךְ תִּקָּחֶנּוּ לְעֶבֶד עֹולָם׃ | Job 40:28 [KJV 41:4] Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? |
הַתְשַׂחֶק־בֹּו כַּצִּפֹּור וְתִקְשְׁרֶנּוּ לְנַעֲרֹותֶיךָ׃ | Job 40:29 [KJV 41:5] Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? |
יִכְרוּ עָלָיו חַבָּרִים יֶחֱצוּהוּ בֵּין כְּנַעֲנִים׃ | Job 40:30 [KJV 41:6] Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? |
הַתְמַלֵּא בְשֻׂכֹּות עֹורֹו וּבְצִלְצַל דָּגִים רֹאשֹׁו׃ | Job 40:31 [KJV 41:7] Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? |
שִׂים־עָלָיו כַּפֶּךָ זְכֹר מִלְחָמָה אַל־תֹּוסַף׃ | Job 40:32 [KJV 41:8] Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. |
