bənî šəmōr ’ămārāy ûmiṣəwōṯay tiṣəpōn ’ittāḵ | Prov 7:1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. |
šəmōr miṣəwōṯay weḥəyēh wəṯôrāṯî kə’îšôn ‘êneyḵā | Prov 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. |
qāšərēm ‘al-’eṣəbə‘ōṯeyḵā kāṯəḇēm ‘al-lûaḥ libbeḵā | Prov 7:3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. |
’ĕmōr laḥāḵəmāh ’ăḥōṯî ’ātt ûmōḏā‘ labbînāh ṯiqərā’ | Prov 7:4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: |
lišəmārəḵā mē’iššāh zārāh minnāḵəriyyāh ’ămāreyhā heḥĕlîqāh | Prov 7:5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. |
kî bəḥallôn bêṯî bə‘aḏ ’ešənabbî nišəqāp̱ətî | Prov 7:6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, |
wā’ēre’ ḇappəṯā’yim ’āḇînāh ḇabbānîm na‘ar ḥăsar-lēḇ | Prov 7:7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, |
‘ōḇēr baššûq ’ēṣel pinnāhh wəḏereḵ bêṯāhh yiṣə‘āḏ | Prov 7:8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, |
bənešep̱-bə‘ereḇ yôm bə’îšôn layəlāh wa’ăp̱ēlāh | Prov 7:9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: |
wəhinnēh ’iššāh liqərā’ṯô šîṯ zônāh ûnəṣuraṯ lēḇ | Prov 7:10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart. |
hōmiyyāh hî’ wəsōrāreṯ bəḇêṯāhh lō’-yišəkənû rag̱əleyhā | Prov 7:11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: |
pa‘am baḥûṣ pa‘am bārəḥōḇôṯ wə’ēṣel kāl-pinnāh ṯe’ĕrōḇ | Prov 7:12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.) |
wəheḥĕzîqāh bô wənāšəqāh-llô hē‘ēzāh p̱āneyhā wattō’mar lô | Prov 7:13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, |
ziḇəḥê šəlāmîm ‘ālāy hayyôm šillamətî nəḏārāy | Prov 7:14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows. |
‘al-kēn yāṣā’ṯî liqərā’ṯeḵā ləšaḥēr pāneyḵā wā’eməṣā’ekkā | Prov 7:15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. |
marəḇaddîm rāḇaḏətî ‘arəśî ḥăṭuḇôṯ ’ēṭûn miṣərāyim | Prov 7:16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. |
nap̱ətî mišəkāḇî mōr ’ăhālîm wəqinnāmôn | Prov 7:17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. |
ləḵāh nirəweh ḏōḏîm ‘aḏ-habbōqer niṯə‘alləsāh bā’ŏhāḇîm | Prov 7:18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. |
kî ’ên hā’îš bəḇêṯô hālaḵ bəḏereḵ mērāḥôq | Prov 7:19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey: |
ṣərôr-hakkesep̱ lāqaḥ bəyāḏô ləyôm hakkēse’ yāḇō’ ḇêṯô | Prov 7:20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. |
hiṭṭattû bərōḇ liqəḥāhh bəḥēleq śəp̱āṯeyhā taddîḥennû | Prov 7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. |
hôlēḵ ’aḥăreyhā piṯə’ōm kəšôr ’el-ṭāḇaḥ yāḇô’ ûḵə‘eḵes ’el-mûsar ’ĕwîl | Prov 7:22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; |
‘aḏ yəp̱allaḥ ḥēṣ kəḇēḏô kəmahēr ṣippôr ’el-pāḥ wəlō’-yāḏa‘ kî-ḇənap̱əšô hû’ | Prov 7:23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. |
wə‘attāh ḇānîm šimə‘û-lî wəhaqəšîḇû lə’imərê-p̱î | Prov 7:24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. |
’al-yēśəṭ ’el-dərāḵeyhā libbeḵā ’al-tēṯa‘ binəṯîḇôṯeyhā | Prov 7:25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. |
kî-rabbîm ḥălālîm hippîlāh wa‘ăṣumîm kāl-hărug̱eyhā | Prov 7:26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. |
darəḵê šə’ôl bêṯāhh yōrəḏôṯ ’el-ḥaḏərê-māweṯ | Prov 7:27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. |
